Salamander Survey Kick-Off Meeting

Sat 1 Mar, 10 am-12 pm. Leslie Science Center Nature House – 1831 Traver Road, Ann Arbor. Join us for the fifth year of Michigan’s first Salamander Monitoring Program. With your help, we will learn more about these species’ population abundance and distribution around town. Scarlett-Mitchell Nature Area Stewardship Workday

Sat 1 Mar, 10 am-1 pm. We will be cutting invasive shrubs during this early spring intensive workday weekend to clear the way for the return of native grasses and wildflowers. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian, or contact NAP in advance to obtain a release form if you would like older children to participate on their own. Frog and Toad Survey Kick-Off Meeting

Public Meeting – Prescribed Ecological Burn Program

Tue 4 Mar, 7:30-9 pm. Fire is used as a restoration tool in some of Ann Arbor’s natural areas. This meeting will provide information and an opportunity for discussion about the Prescribed Ecological Burn Program conducted by Natural Area Preservation. Prescribed Burn Crew Training

Wed 5 Mar, 12-5 pm. This is the Required yearly training session for all new volunteers interested in assisting with the prescribed burns this spring and fall.
