MAY 12 – Trouble IN Paradise Widely considered Ernst Lubitsch’s greatest romantic comedy, it features a pair of sophisticated and competitive thieves, played exquisitely by Herbert Marshall and Miriam Hopkins. When they finally target a wealthy female owner of a parfumerie, romantic entanglements ensue which jeopardizes their larcenous plans. A Film/Discussion Series with Harold Chapler Each screening is introduced with pointers from Mr. Chapler and followed by optional discussion. Participants are given tools to identify plot lines, design elements, character choices, thematic nuances and how they contribute to a well-crafted film.
