Friday, August 05, 2011 | 12:00 PM to 07:00 PM The National Aquarium is turning 30 and will celebrate with a three-day family-friendly festival featuring live entertainment and activities for all ages from Fri., Aug. 5 through Sun., Aug. 7. Live performances during the festival will be provided by Milkshake, St. Veronica’s Youth Steel Orchestra, Mexico Vivo, the Waxter Center Steppers and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy activities including face painting, an Ocean Art Project, character appearances including the Aquarium’s beloved Puffin and Sherman, zumba dance instruction, and a Kid’s Corner.
In keeping with the Aquarium’s mission of being a conservation minded institution, various conservation organizations, along with the Aqurium’s Conservation team, will be onsite to give out information about how the public can reduce, reuse and reserve to help make the world better.
