Finding the Past in Surprising Sources - An Interactive Jewish Genealogy Research Session” Sunday, August 14, 2011 | 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Jewish genealogical research poses particular challenges and rewards. Searching for documents is complicated by questions about actual vs. adopted family surnames and towns of origin. Join Keren as she takes you on an exciting journey to some of the amazing discoveries in her case files, and then opens the session up to the audience for questions and on-the-spot research. The presentation includes a selection of both standard and out of the ordinary sources for uncovering Jewish family histories.
With each individual question, Keren will provide suggested techniques for bridging genealogical divides. She will be connected to the internet for real-time visits to various websites. As part of the presentation, time will be available to begin the research journey for five audience members selected at random.
