Torah, Hops and Fermentation

Thu 28 Jul, 7-9:30 pm. 101 W. Mt. Royal Avenue, Baltimore, 21201. 410-369-9276. Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore - [email][events]

Want to know more about what Torah's got to do with beer? Or maybe what beer's got to do with Torah? Join us for a night of learning, tasting and doing. Kayam Farm friend Jon Zerivitz has brewed Kayam Farm Summer Ale home-brew specially for this evening (see below for a description). Learn how to pickle and also a bit more about the relationship between Torah and these fermented goodies. Join us at 7:00 p.m. if you care to take a tour of the farm and meet the animals before the evening officially begins at 7:30.

Suggested donation for this event: $10 **Must be over 21 to drink the beer. Kayam Farm Summer Ale is a full bodied American Red Ale brewed from a mix of specialty malts to produce a solid foundation for the addition of plenty of Cascade hops for bitterness and the exciting pop of lemony-citrus flavor from Sorachi Ace hops. A small dose of orange and grapefruit zest was added just before fermentation.
