Ongoing Thursdays, 7:30-10:30 pm. Gainesville Swing Dancing every Thursday evening from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, you can find us at the Rosa B Williams Center. We kick off the night with a one-hour beginner lesson, followed by two hours of social dancing in a beautiful, air-conditioned hardwood dance hall.
We cannot wait to hit the dance floor with all of you.
No partner or experience needed.
Parking:
Free street parking is available in front of or beside the building, as well as in the nearby Friends of the Library lot.
Admission:
Free, donations encouraged via cash or Venmo.

Ready to level up your Lindy Hop from 6-count to 8-count? If you've taken at least 1-3 Lindy Hop lessons, then this lesson series is the one for you!! We'll explore basic 8-count moves, discuss the difference between 6-count and 8-count, and culminate with Lindy Hop's most iconic move: the swingout.

You can dance Charleston by yourself or with a partner, and you can mix in Charleston moves when dancing Lindy Hop or Solo Jazz. Musicality! It's how a dancer expresses music in their own body. When we first learn a new partner dance, we are so focused on the footwork and the moves and the basics that we can forget we're dancing to awesome music! In order to level up your dancing, Jennifer Fill will be teaching a lesson focused on musicality, to give you creative ideas that will allow you to go beyond your Lindy Hop basics!
Jen was invited to her first Lindy Hop lesson in 2014 and was instantly obsessed with how much fun dancers were having. The joy of swing dancing led her to participate in many workshops and exchanges at home and abroad. She has a particular love for Solo Jazz and the creativity it brings to individual and partner dancing, and she loves helping dancers have fun expressing themselves and connecting to the music in this way.
