Jewish Family Service Association will be accepting completed applications for financial aid for the 2005-2006 academic year through April 21, 2005.
JFSA awards need-based, interest free loans, grants and scholarships for Jewish students in greater Cleveland. Awards are available to both full and part-time students. Students are awarded up to a maximum of $3,500 per academic year in the form of loans and grants based on the total applicant pool, total need and total available funds. To be eligible for consideration for aid, a family’s income should not exceed $85,000 annually. Exceptions to this rule are made in unique circumstances.
Funds for awards come from the Sadie and Maurice Friedman Fund and the Mortimer Weisberg Fund of the endowment fund of the Jewish Community Federation, the National Council of Jewish Women and previous students’ loan repayments. Funds are distributed each August for the fall term and each January for the winter term. Students can apply once a year. Scholarships are available for fall distribution only.
