Sunday 27 May 2007
Sun 27 May, 8 am. see description below, 123 Saddle Blanket Trail (Hay's County), Austin. Guy, 512-426-1879 (cell). Mosaic Jewish Outdoor Club of Central Texas - [email][events]
It's getting darn warm out there, so it would we meet at 8:00am. Guy will have coffee and bagels for before the ride, while we check everybody's tire pressure, and load ice water in everybody's bottles. The ride should get underway by 8:30am at the latest, and we'll be back by 10:00am, unless the group likes to take long breaks and kibitz during the ride. We are planning on a 15-20 mile ride.
After the ride, enjoy kibbutz style salad, hummous, baba ganoush, tabouli, and shakshuka. Lots of pitas, olives, and cafe botz. PLEASE RSVP list so we are not short of pitas, or stuck with a few dozen extra the next day.
LOCATION: 123 Saddle Blanket Trail
Take I-35 south to exit 220 (FM 2001, Cabela's). At the traffic light/overpass, take a LEFT to go over the overpass. Continue straight for another block and turn RIGHT onto FM 2001. Just 0.8 mile down FM 2001, on the right side of the road, is a subdivision called Old West Trails. Turn RIGHT into Old West Trails, and then another RIGHT on Saddle Blanket Trail (the first possible right you'll get to). The street is only one block long. The house is at the end of it, in the cul-de-sac on your left. It's the only house with a mezzuza in the subdivision, so you can't miss it.
