Wed 9 May. On May 9, 2007, the Crossroads Film Society will present "You're Gonna Miss Me," the chronicle of the Texan band The 13th Floor Elevators. These guys coined the term psychedelic rock and were responsible for some of the garage era's most precious nuggets. With his visionary lyrics, their charismatic singer Roky Erickson was poised to be a huge star, but as his fame grew, so did his notoriety. Oscar nominated Peter O'Toole stars as a veteran actor who develops a friendship with a brash teenager played by Jodie Whittaker. Maurice and Ian are a pair of actors who never hit the big time. Now in their "golden years" they continue to work, though the jobs are far from glamorous.
