Betty Makoni in Conversation with Walter Turner Celebrate the spirit of women on International Women's Day. Join us for an engaging conversation with Betty Makoni, an award-winning girls rights activist in Zimbabwe, and long-time host of KPFA's Africa Today, Walter Turner. The founder of Girl Child Network (GCN) - an AJWS grantee - Betty will share stories of her inspiring work in advancing the rights of the girl child in the context of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Zimbabwe. Betty's work is rooted in her unwavering belief that girls and women must be treated as equals with men and that they need to confront the injustices they face to ensure a better life.
