Artists and Photographers: We'll meet at Riata Pond, a picturesque area tucked into suburban Northwest Austin. There is a wetlands pond with a large variety of plants and birds. A blue heron nests there and is often seen "posing" along the edge of the pond. Sunset should be a good time to capture the beauty of the location. We'll meet there at 7:00 and have some time to sketch and shoot. Sunset is 8:03 p.m.

Afterwards, we can go for a snack at a nearby cafe.

WHAT to BRING: Bring your camera equipment or sketchbooks and media. There are a few benches located around the pond, but you may want to bring along a portable chair so you can choose a spot to sketch. WHAT to WEAR: Loads of bug repellent! It's a wetlands and that means mosquitoes. Also, sturdy boots or high shoes if you plan to go off the paths. Staying on the paths is recommended.
