Sat 1 Mar. The Jewish Museum of Maryland is collecting photographs of men and women in their World War II armed services uniforms. These photos may be included on the "Wall of Honor" that will be displayed as part of the upcoming exhibition, Ours To Fight For: American Jews in the Second World War. This award-winning exhibition, on loan to the JMM from the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York, will open at the Museum in February 2008, and will remain on display through July 2008. Sunday, March 2 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. One of the few documentaries to explore the experieneces of Jewish-American veterans of World War II, From Philadelphia to the Front focuses on six Philadelphia veterans, now in their 80s. The vets reflect on their individual experiences and on the personal significance of the "war to defeat Hitler." This film artfully incorporates personal photographs and rare archival footage, including Jewish soldiers celebrating Shabbat and Passover during wartime and the first Jewish service at Dachau after it was liberated.
