Blessed is the Match

Sun 3 May. “Blessed is the Match” is a film based on the life of Hannah Senesh. While living on a kibbutz in Israel, Hannah volunteered to parachute into her native Hungary in 1944 to help the Jews. Captured, she was tortured and executed. “Even if they catch me,” she told a comrade, “that too will become known to the people in the concentration camps. They will know that someone came to try to help them.” The film will be shown at 2:30pm, May 3rd, in the Jewish Community Center’s Zale auditorium located at 7900 Northaven Road, Dallas TX 75230. The film is part of the JCC’s annual Jewish film festival that runs from April 18th to May 9th. 211 N. Record St., Suite 100, Dallas, 75202-3361. Elliott Dlin, (214) 741-7500.
