Sun 3 May. “Blessed is the Match” is a film based on the life of Hannah Senesh. While living on a kibbutz in Israel, Hannah volunteered to parachute into her native Hungary in 1944 to help the Jews. Captured, she was tortured and executed. “Even if they catch me,” she told a comrade, “that too will become known to the people in the concentration camps. They will know that someone came to try to help them.” The film will be shown at 2:30pm, May 3rd, in the Jewish Community Center’s Zale auditorium located at 7900 Northaven Road, Dallas TX 75230. Sun 3 May, 1:30 pm. And They Came For Me. Remembering the World of Anne Frank at the Dallas Children’s Theater, 5938 Skillman Street, Dallas, TX 75231 at 1:30pm. This award-winning play melds video, slide and live dramatic performances to tell the stories of Eva Schloss and Ed Silverberg, childhood friends of Anne Frank. A private reception with Eva, an Auschwitz survivor, follows immediately. Tickets are $30 each and limited in number.
