Sun 25 Apr. There are many ways to help your community. Come A.L.I.V.E. (Alliance, Leadership, Involvement, Volunteerism, Energy) and volunteer inside or out. Help your community by building gardens, fixing homes, working with the elderly, cleaning parks, assembling first aid kits and more. The day will run from 10:30 am - 4:00 pm and begin at the JCC, 1391 Martine Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ with registration. Opening and closing ceremony included. Teens will be bussed from the JCC to and from the various site locations. Lunch and snacks provided. All participants must be in 8th -12th grades. Free T-shirts will be given out at registration. Director: Roberta Grossman Country: United States 2008 This powerful documentary about Hannah Senesh is a story of tragedy and courage which unfolds with unprecedented access to the Senesh family archives. Senesh was a poet and diarist who became a paratrooper, resistance fighter and heroine. During a 1944 mission to rescue Hungary’s Jews, she was captured by the Nazis. Her mother witnessed her ordeal, first as a fellow prisoner and later as Hannah’s advocate.
