Hosted by Beth Am Israel 1301 Hagys Ford Rd., Penn Valley, PA 19072 Professor Roberta Rosenthal Kwall Manny Pokotilow, Esquire Douglas Panzer, Esquire 9:00 am – 12:30 pm This basic IP course explores the unique tensions that exist in legislating rights and limitations to intellectual and artistic creations. Professor Kwall will discuss the idea of intrinsic creativity, beginning with the Biblical narratives of creation.
She will then examine the intersection between intellectual property and Jewish law, with a particular focus on “moral rights.”
Mr. Pokotilow will follow with an explanation of how you obtain rights and protect ideas, inventions, works of art, movies, photos, music, brand names, and other intellectual property under the current law of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Mr. Panzer will conclude with a presentation on current issues in computer and cyberspace law, including music downloading and the use of protected media online.
Three substantive credits: $100
Breakfast included; dietary laws observed.
