Can You Hear Me Now? Tackling a Case with Wiretap or Video

Zucker, Esquire Detective Marc Azeff Rabbi Joshua Kalev 9:00 am–12:30 pm In this course, Mr. Zucker will discuss a recent multi-defendant criminal case involving a narcotics ring where wiretap evidence played a critical role.

These are difficult cases to prepare and try, so Mr. Zucker will review how to best manage and present a defense, including preliminary hearing, discovery, pretrial motions, trial and closing arguments. Detective Marc Azeff, an expert in undercover video and electronic evidence, will explain the technical aspects and challenges of doing surveillance and share some anecdotes from his extensive experience. Rabbi Kalev will conclude with a segment on ethics, exploring privacy issues and eavesdropping in Jewish law.

One ethics and two substantive credits: $100
