The controversial Rotem conversion bill and the new registration of spousal relations law suggest a trend which is causing great concern among world Jewry. Ms. Levush will discuss the history of relations between the State and various religions in Israel with a particular focus on marriage and divorce law. Comparisons will also be drawn to other countries with significant religious minority populations.
