Espionage and Ethics: Representing Harry Gold and Other Unpopular Defendants Gratz College 7605 Old York Road Melrose Park, PA 19027 Allen M. Hornblum Samuel W. Silver, Esquire Joseph A. Sullivan, Esquire 9:00 am – 12:30 pm This course will focus on the American legal ideal that every accused criminal, no matter how heinous his alleged crime, is entitled to a defense. Historian Allen Hornblum will speak about Harry Gold, the soviet spy who gave the USSR the plans for the atom bomb, and the Pepper Hamilton attorneys who defended him for free until the end of his life.
