Mon 13 Jun. Popular rebellions against dictatorial Arab governments began recently in Tunisia, spread to Egypt, engulfed Libya, Yemen, and other countries, and may yet threaten the Iranian military-theocracy. To understand the prospects, the implications for Israel, and the role outside powers like the U.S. could play in affecting outcomes, we need to gain a better understanding of what brought about these upheavals and how they may play out.
