Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 11:00am - 3:00pm Youngsters and the young at heart will enjoy a day of special activities, food, and gallery tours at the Wright Museum’s 14th annual Family Day, which will take place on Sunday, July 10 from 11a.m. to 3p.m. While uniformed re-enactors, demonstrations, and a barbeque lunch make the event enjoyable, the real draw is the unique opportunity to ride in one of the Wright Museum’s vintage WWII vehicles. Visitors will also meet “Rosie the Riveter” and learn about the contributions of women on the home front. This presentation explores the challenges faced by the Post Office Department in getting mail to servicemen throughout the world under wartime conditions and reviews the many roles the Post Office was involved in to support the war effort.
