Sun 9 Oct, 6-9:30 pm. Four week series of putting the Lindy Swing Rhythm Turn into practice. We will go over numerous ways to add the rhythm turn to your dancing, connecting to 6-count movements, how to signal the difference between 6-count and 8-count and other number moves, how to dance to the music, adding Lindy styling, various pattern combinations, improvising your own moves, fine tuning your precision, exploring variations and how to communicate them without your partner knowing them in advance. From 6 to 7 is introduction to Swing dancing for new dancers. From 7 to 8:30 is the Lindy Swing Rhythm Turn series for dancers with some experience. From 8:30 to 9:30 is Hustle for all levels. Fri 21 Oct, 6-7 pm. Improve your ballroom dance skills with U.S. Open Champion, Dr. Caroline (Kay) Picart. Intermediate to Advanced Ballroom from 6:30-7:30. Classes focus on technique, styling and skills. You do not need to know this dance, but you do need to know how to dance. The class is for multiple levels at the same time. Sun 30 Oct, 6-7 pm. Four week series introducing you to Lindy Swing dancing starting October 30 and running for four Sundays from 6 to 7 pm. No partner and no dance experience needed. We will rotate partners, but you will not be required to rotate. This class is designed for the new dancer and will be slow and easy. This class is offered through Santa Fe College Community Education. Registration opens October 12 on this page http://dept./ce/. Lindy is the mother of all Swing dances. When you learn Lindy, you will be able to do any other kind of Swing dance. If you take this class, you can stay for the following Lindy and Hustle classes on the same night and come to Israeli Dancing on Monday at B'nai Israel at no additional charge.
