Sat 12 Nov to Sun 13 Nov. Yiddish Translation in the 21st Century brings together academics, publishers, students and translators for a much-needed conversation about the future of Yiddish translation. Not so much an academic forum as a working session, this conference will provide a stimulating and productive environment in which to address challenges and explore possibilities of Yiddish translation in the 21st century. The program opens with a keynote address on Saturday night, November 12, following havdole and dinner. Panels will be presented on Sunday, November 13, on the current state of Yiddish translation, publication and translation in the digital age, and how best to support Yiddish translation moving forward. There will be ample opportunity for less structured discussio. 1021 West Street, Amherst, 01002. Laura Sheppard-Brick, 413-256-4900. National Yiddish Book Center - [email][events]
