This course surveys American Jewish history from 1654 to 1924, covering major developments in American Judaism and American Jewish life from historical, religious and cultural perspectives, and through the often overlapping lenses of religion, ethnicity, culture and community. Through the exploration of primary and secondary source readings, class lectures, and film clips, the uniqueness and diversity of American Jews and their communities will be explored. Instructor: Professor Joellyn Zollman Class meets on Wednesdays for 6 successive weeks, July 6 - August 10, 2011 Tuition: $90 (AMAA Members $81) Time & Location: 10:00 - 11:30am at Cong.
