We will do individual exercises and partner activities to understand this improvisational dance! We will explore various concepts of connection (to oneself, to the music, to the dance partner, to the dance floor, to other social dancers).
Parking is available on campus after 5 pm.
What to wear? If you own a pair of salsa shoes, jazz/ballet flats, or Toms, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Partner Dance? You are welcome to join with or without a partner. Those who come alone will be paired up.

Thu 1 Feb 2018. Every winter, Kanapaha holds an Annual Winter Bamboo Sale. In December, Kanapaha issues a descriptive sales/availability listing of bamboos that are being offered during January and February on a dug-to-order basis.
Orders for bamboo may be phoned in to 352-372-4981 starting January 1st. Buyers will be advised of the date orders will be ready for pickup and payment will be needed when orders are placed. There are no refunds issued after the bamboo has been dug. Bamboo Sale is in January and February only. Order are prioritized by the date the customer is willing to come pickup the bamboo since some orders may exceed availability. Want to learn tango? Come join the UF Argentine Tango Club for a free beginner tango class. Feel free to join even if you have never danced tango before, there are teachers for whatever level you might be.
Who: Everyone can come. The beginner class is geared for people who have never danced before or who want to practice the basics. The intermediate class is for those who have been to at least some classes and is for you if you feel ready and confident enough to learn some new steps. The advanced class is for those who have been dancing for a long while now and will feature more complicated steps, so ask a teacher to make sure you are experienced enough for this level.

We are pleased to announce that Sandra Postel, Director of the Independent Global Water Policy Project will be the Keynote Speaker. Sandra Postel lectures, writes and consults on global water issues. In 2010 she was appointed Freshwater Fellow of the National Geographic Society. Sandra’s new book, Replenish: The Virtuous Cycle of Water and Prosperity, will be released in October 2017.

Wed 7 Feb 2018, 8:30-11:30 am. Discover the rich diversity of birds (and maybe some rarities!) at north-central Florida’s newest birding hotspot in a 2-3-hour walking tour. Birders of all levels welcome.
The bird walk takes place at Sweetwater Wetlands Park, which is located on the south side of Gainesville, 3/4 mile east of the intersection of SW 13th Street, US 441 and Williston Road. Look for the sign on the south side of the road. Those interested will meet at the covered shelter by the parking lot.
Bird walks continue every Wednesday from September to May, at 8:30 am.
Birding Field Trips are led by volunteers from Alachua Audubon Society.
Walks are free, but park admission is $5 per car or $2 per person (bicyclists, pedestrians, buses)

Orders for bamboo may be phoned in to 352-372-4981 starting January 1st. Buyers will be advised of the date orders will be ready for pickup and payment will be needed when orders are placed. There are no refunds issued after the bamboo has been dug. Bamboo Sale is in January and February only. The bird walk takes place at Sweetwater Wetlands Park, which is located on the south side of Gainesville, 3/4 mile east of the intersection of SW 13th Street, US 441 and Williston Road. Look for the sign on the south side of the road. Those interested will meet at the covered shelter by the parking lot.
Bird walks continue every Wednesday from September to May, at 8:30 am.
Birding Field Trips are led by volunteers from Alachua Audubon Society.

Want to learn tango? Come join the UF Argentine Tango Club for a free beginner tango class. Feel free to join even if you have never danced tango before, there are teachers for whatever level you might be.
Who: Everyone can come. The beginner class is geared for people who have never danced before or who want to practice the basics. The intermediate class is for those who have been to at least some classes and is for you if you feel ready and confident enough to learn some new steps. The advanced class is for those who have been dancing for a long while now and will feature more complicated steps, so ask a teacher to make sure you are experienced enough for this level.

Mon 19 Feb 2018. Every winter, Kanapaha holds an Annual Winter Bamboo Sale. In December, Kanapaha issues a descriptive sales/availability listing of bamboos that are being offered during January and February on a dug-to-order basis.
Orders for bamboo may be phoned in to 352-372-4981 starting January 1st. Buyers will be advised of the date orders will be ready for pickup and payment will be needed when orders are placed. There are no refunds issued after the bamboo has been dug. Bamboo Sale is in January and February only. Order are prioritized by the date the customer is willing to come pickup the bamboo since some orders may exceed availability. The bird walk takes place at Sweetwater Wetlands Park, which is located on the south side of Gainesville, 3/4 mile east of the intersection of SW 13th Street, US 441 and Williston Road. Look for the sign on the south side of the road. Those interested will meet at the covered shelter by the parking lot.
Bird walks continue every Wednesday from September to May, at 8:30 am.
Birding Field Trips are led by volunteers from Alachua Audubon Society.
Walks are free, but park admission is $5 per car or $2 per person (bicyclists, pedestrians, buses)
