Ongoing Thursdays, 7:30-10:30 pm. Gainesville Swing Dancing every Thursday evening from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, you can find us at the Rosa B Williams Center. We kick off the night with a one-hour beginner lesson, followed by two hours of social dancing in a beautiful, air-conditioned hardwood dance hall.
We cannot wait to hit the dance floor with all of you.
No partner or experience needed.
Parking:
Free street parking is available in front of or beside the building, as well as in the nearby Friends of the Library lot.
Admission:
Free, donations encouraged via cash or Venmo.

Mon 11 Mar 2019, 8:30-10:30 pm. Florida Swing Dancing Club invites you all to join us again this Monday at the Collonade for some swing dancing. There are no lessons, but we will have teachers there to help out with things you have learned in previous lessons.
This event is completely free so come check it out if you have not. You may come alone or with a group of friends. Coming with a dance partner is not necessary and no prior dance experience is required.

As for parking, you can park in the Reitz Union Parking Garage, it is free after 4:30 pm.

Wed 20 Mar 2019, 5-6 pm. A series of bimonthly balboa lessons. In this meeting we will learn basic down - hold footwork and connection and start exploring how to use it to move with our partners. Due to unavailability of the dance studios, the second session will not begin until February 6. From then on we will meet every other week from 4 to 6 pm with an hour for lessons and an hour for practice. If you are unable to attend this first session you are welcome to come at 4 pm on Feb 6 to get a re-cap.
For these lessons please bring shoes that will allow you to slide or else, wear socks. This will not go well for you if your shoes are causing you to grip the floor. We may have a gap of about 3 weeks before the next session, but I highly encourage you to use this time to practice your footwork and get confortable with it, it will make the rest of the semester easier for you.
