Directors: Adam Sanderson and Muli Segev Israel, 2010, 88 min. Hebrew with English subtitles Comedy In this biblical comedy, we relive the last week in the annals of history’s most infamous City of Sin, as the people of Sodom prove that the best way to survive is to screw everyone else.
God is a young, ambitious theology entrepreneur trying to solicit his first client, a hard-headed man by the name of Abraham. The grumpy old man conducts tough negotiations on the conditions whereby he will be willing to sign up and has one non-negotiable demand: To rescue his nephew Lot from the city of Sodom which is on the verge of destruction due to the sins of its inhabitants. Lot is indeed a righteous man, who is finding it hard to survive in the city, given the cruelty of city hall headed by Bera Ben Elef: a corrupt ruler with a fondness for building luxury real estate projects on expropriated public land. On the home front, Lot suffers from the abuse of his bitter wife, who is constantly on his case due to his poor performance as a provider. His innocent only daughter Charlotte is the single source of light in his life.
