The best Israelian Klezmer's Ensemble LAMA LO! (WHY NOT!). The Ensemble, founded in 1999 in Jerusalem. We present a new view of traditional Jewish folklore by blending traditional klezmer music with elements of classical, jazz and Middle Eastern ethnic music, thus forming the bright individual and creative manner
of the group.
Roman Kekhman, the soloist of the ensemble, is the best clarinetist in Jewish music in Israel now. In 2002 he was awarded the title of a Laureate(1 Prize) at the Competition of Jewish Music in Israel.
The Ensemble consists of Roman Kekhman - virtuoso clarnetist (soloist), Yevgeniy Lyublin (Trumpet), Yuri Povolotsky (Piano, Accordion), Yakov Entin(Violin , Bass),Eduard Rezonov(Contrabass) and Anatoly Magdalinsky (Drums).
LAMA LO! performs different programmes together with various singers: With Alexandra Gorelik (Yiddish). She was awarded the title of a Laureate at the 7 International Competitions. Alexandra Gorelik adopted by The Jewish Enciclopedia among the best seven singers in the world. She has the title: “The Gold Voice of Argentinaâ€.
From the November 2002 “LAMA LO†performs together with the actress and singer Esti Svidensky(Yiddish). She was awarded the title of a Laureate at the 4 International Competitions.
With Marina Yakubovich (Yiddish). She was awarded the title of a Laureate at the Moscow Competition (1 Prize) .
LAMA LO! plays only original composition and author’s versions of traditional music by famous composer Yuri Povolotsky.
LAMA LO! has performed successfully in the best concert’s hall in Israel Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Haifa, Afula, Rishon Le Zion, Carmiel, Hadera etc.) and abroad (Moscow ,Minsk ,Baku, Tokio, Bangkok, Shanghai, Gong-Kong). The ensemble was awarded the title of a Laureate at the International Competition and Festivals (2000 -Moscow, 2001 - Minsk, 2001- Tel-Aviv, 2002 - Ashdod) All concerts of "LAMA LO!" Ensemble, organized by the Israelian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001 and in 2002 were a great success.
The musicians are full of energy, they are natural, professional, they dance and play not only at the stage, they go out into the hall, they drag all the public in joint activity, joint joy of creation. The Ensemble full of gladness of life, the musicians frankly happy to perform and the public feels their sincerity and returns reciprocity.
