AMIT was founded in 1925 on the tenets of tolerance, respect for others and the unity of the Jewish people. Today AMIT serves as Israel's official network for traditional, secondary technological education. Its network contains 55 schools, child havens and youth villages as well as schools that specialize in science, computer technology and robotics. The local chapter, AMIT Kansas City Nitzanim Chapter, has two or three fundraisers annually to support the AMIT programs in Israel. This local chapter exists as a way of gathering members from various cities to participate in these fundraisers.
